• Jason Pohlen has been hired as senior vice president/commercial lender at Bell Bank, 1001 Broadway St. in Alexandria. In his new position, Pohlen will develop and manage client relationships with commercial banking opportunities in the Alexandria market. Originally from Minneota, Pohlen graduated from Minnesota State University Mankato and has been in the banking field for nearly 25 years. Pohlen spent 16 years at Wells Fargo and the most recent 8 years at Bremer Bank. Pohlen lives in Alexandria with his wife, Gina, and their three children.
• Hagstrom Engineering has hired Jillian Reiner who will lead its landscape architecture department. Reiner is a professional landscape architect with more than six years of experience and a passion for creating meaningful spaces. She has an undergraduate degree in art and a master's degree from the University of Minnesota in landscape architecture.
• Two Douglas County artists were among 10 artists in a nine-county area chosen to receive intensive help in building their careers as part of the Arts Resource Experts Cohort, the Lake Region Arts Council announced. Through the program, fiber artist Becky Albright and jewelry maker Jon Thompson will be connected with resources, information and opportunities. Artists were selected based on where they live, their artistic discipline and commitment to their art.
