Echo Press hires two intern reporters for summer

Leah Stinson and Caroline Roers were recently hired as reporter interns for the Osakis Review and the Echo Press this summer.

The internship program is part of the Pohlad Family Foundation administered through the Minnesota Newspaper Association.

Stinson graduated from Jefferson High School this June and will be attending St. Olaf College in Northfield this fall.

She is also employed part-time by CherryBerry of Alexandria.

She was born in Plattsburgh, New York, and moved to Alexandria before 9th grade. Her family includes her parents, David and Denise Stinson, and her sister, Katie.

In her free time, she enjoys reading, playing soccer, traveling and playing piano.

Stinson looks forward to being introduced to the world of journalism on a local level and plans to incorporate writing into her career someday.

Roers also graduated from Jefferson High School this past June and will be attending Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where she is planning on studying journalism.

Born and raised in Alexandria, Roers is the daughter of Mike and Kristine Roers and her two brothers are Benjamin and Daniel Roers.

In her free time, she enjoys riding on a boat, reading and being with her family.

Roers is excited to continue her career in journalism and explore new ideas and challenges.
