Former Evansville resident writes children's book

Former Evansville resident Alli Hansen will sign her new children's book, Huevos Rancheros, at Book World in Alexandria on Tuesday, March 17 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The book tells the story of an "egg boy" and "egg girl" who successfully protect their chickens from the "Banditos Poquitos," a fox that hides among the cacti.

It's described as a bright crayon-colored tale for young children.

The daughter of Doug and Sandy Alvstad of Evansville, Hansen attended elementary and junior high school in Evansville and graduated from West Central Area High School in Barrett.

She now lives in central Wisconsin with her husband, Nick, and their two children.

She completed her degree in theater and English and is now completing her second degree in elementary education at the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point.

This is Hansen's first book. While it had been an idea for years, it was coaxed into existence through an assignment on the use of adverbs. She noted her professor, Dr. Evans, motivated her to submit the finished product for publication.
