Flags cover the hillside next to the chapel at Bethany on the Lake in Alexandria to honor those who have served or who currently are serving in the military. The flags, which will be displayed through May 31, are also illuminated at night by solar powered lights. Visitors to the Runestone Museum for Mai Fest had a chance to enjoy traditional Scandinavian food, music, crafts and games Saturday. The Mai Fest celebrates Minnesota’s connection to Scandinavia as well as Syttende Mai, which is Norway’s Constitution Day and its most celebrated holiday.
